I'll let you in on a little secret: I don't leave the house without a motive. I love the outdoors, but I won't go out and experience it without a reason, because I'm one of those annoying people who always needs to feel like they've achieved something.
At the moment there's a very short list of things that get me out of the house:
1. Hiking (which is on stand-by because of my sciatica)
4. Concerts / Comedy gigs
I'm just gonna focus on that last one for now. When I was 16, I got my first "proper" camera. When I say "proper", I mean it wasn't a compact point and shoot. If my memory serves me correctly, it was a little FujiFilm FinePix S4800 bridge camera. I loved that camera!
Suddenly I wanted to leave the house all the time, and within a few months my parents treated me to a dSLR; the FujiFilm FinePix S5 Pro. I was hooked! I even began doing paid photo shoots, which was a blessing at the time due to the fact that I wasn't earning any other money and was too young to claim benefits.
More important than the money was the motivation to leave the house and soak up some of that rare sunshine that occasionally graces the British Isles, whilst capturing photos that would make both myself and others smile. So pick up a camera, or even your phone, and get snapping!
