"Anxiety and communication?"

Recently I made contact with a local organisation (yesterday in fact!) because we're campaigning on the exact same issues; so it makes sense that we should work together, right? Now, reaching out to people and organisations always makes me anxious! There have been times that I've actually avoided contacting people simply because the idea of approaching them made me super anxious.

Last night, I was so exhausted from the heat we've been experiencing that anxiety couldn't even penetrate the exhaustion. I don't recommend contacting people when you're at that level of exhaustion by the way - I struggled to string together a coherent sentence!

However, despite the struggle to form an email that made some kind of sense, I cleared that first hurdle. Today we've chatted some more and the conversation has flowed effortlessly. I'm actually a little giddy with excitement!

With that, this is going to be a pretty short post with a tiny bit of advice. Take the leap. Make that first bit of contact - you might be surprised at the outcome!
