I set up this site in March 2016, shortly after turning 19. Truth is, I kind of sat down and thought "oh wow, I'm not going to be a teenager forever, I'd best start doing something...".
Now, having had two jobs that left me lying in the dirt in terms of my mental health, I wasn't about to get up and apply for an office job. Oh no, that might be considered a rational step to take when you're having an existential crisis. Instead, I launched this website.
Since then I've been publishing a post every weekday answering questions that people have either asked me directly, I've asked myself, or people seem to get asked on a regular basis. As I've been doing this, I've been watching a magical thing happen; people have started to talk. They've been opening up about their experiences, and others have been catching them. The stigma has started to fall away.
Having suffered from severe anxiety and depression since I was 13, I take a fair amount of pride in running what I believe to be a rather unique website that tackles mental health head-on without any of the "you just have to decide to wake up happy" rubbish that's so popular on the internet.
So what d'ya say? Join me? Say hi, check out the Little Shop Of Hope, maybe even write a piece for the blog. One thing's for sure, we'll only ever take things one day at a time, so there's no rush to decide what you want to do. I'll be here, waiting, for when you're ready to join in.
